MNA has been providing a property condition reporting service for the local Church of Scotland presbytery since 2009, and consultancy for interior alterations. Several of these churches are listed for their architectural importance. Returning to re-inspect a church building after a number of years readily enables assessment of developing issues associated with ageing and an objective view of interventions since a previous visit.
Cairngryffe Church. Extensively refurbished under the direction of Sir Robert Lorimer in 1904, this fine listed building was provided with a new meeting room below the gallery, carefully designed and installed to permit its removal without damage to the original fabric. Improved lighting, heating and floor finishes were included with the project. Comfortable seats replace a number of the front pews, so that clear space can be available when necessary.
