Rothesay Promenade. MNA prepared several proposals for this site. The plan shows the most recent – the original building converted to flats, with three new houses one of which is shown in the sketch. The coloured drawing shows part of an earlier scheme.
Grassmarket Edinburgh. A fine Victorian shop front was restored during the refurbishment of this Edinburgh Old Town building.
Lister Housing Co-operative was client for the major repair and conservation of Georgian tenements in central Edinburgh. A play area and raised planting beds using unwrought timber and boulders, together with play equipment were provided in the south facing “back court”. This composite installation was commended in the Scottish Urban Regeneration Forum awards for “best practice in urban regeneration – improving a place”
A ‘room in the roof’ was placed in the stair well of a terraced house in Craigleith Road Edinburgh.
Working as an architect in central Africa was a formative experience. Here a young family member is pictured beside a Pavilion for the Lusaka Showground – a project completed for local firm Anderson and Anderson Architects.
